Happy Tuesday! Thank you all so so much for your great feedback and support for my I am a Runner. Period. post last week. I really appreciate you sharing the post and you all put a big smile on my face all day!!
Yesterday I had my first workout over a week and it felt great to be back! I stuck to a nice and easy 2.5 miler and despite forgetting my knee brace, all felt well! I was in no shape for any physical activity last week, and to be honest I didn’t feel guilty one bit. I guess that shows I really wasn’t up for it….or maybe it was because I had absolutely no appetite, so I barely ate all week. I wish that part of strep throat could stick around
….in case you’re wondering, it didn’t.
It’s totally okay though, because I had the best weekend with my big bro and it justified drinking* and eating pizza every night.
(*disclaimer: contrary to how it may seem on this blog, I am not an alcoholic….just a 24 year old refusing to grow up)
I won’t go into every little detail, but I will show you a million pictures. You’re welcome in advance.
On Friday afternoon I went up on the roof to watch Eric’s airplane land! You can almost make out his face in one of the windows
After brother/sister happy hour, we met up with Paul and Jana to get our dueling piano and live band on
The next morning we hit up my go to coffee shop, Lion Coffee, for some recovery food
Eric, a Top Gun enthusiast, was able to geek out as we stopped by Kansas City BBQ, the location of the sleazy bar scene in the movie
Then our aunt, uncle and cousins drove down from LA to hang out with us!
We explored Ocean Beach for a few hours and after an impromptu hike over the rocky shore, we got to see this gorgeous view!
So happy to be living on the same coast as them!
Despite feeling exhausted, Eric and I forced ourselves to go out for the Sox game. We were having a great time, but then they lost, so we drowned our sorrows by ending up at Gaslamp Pizza
Is that a face of excitement, Eric?
Because this is.
On Sunday we were up early and ready for some football and brunch at the Lucky Bastard Saloon! We were surrounded by about 40 TVs ALL showing football, so it was the perfect place to watch all of the earlier games before the Pats played.
The food wasn’t too shabby either!
Then at 1:25 pm, the greatest day in Boston sports began.
This picture was taken before the epic comeback occurred. At this moment in time I didn’t know it was possible to love Tom Brady even more than I did.
Celebratory shots after we won with 5 seconds left in the game. 5 SECONDS, PEOPLE!
Clearly I still can’t get over it.
Still celebrating the win at the next bar while watching the Sox game
And then we experienced ANOTHER amazing comeback, this time by the Red Sox. I don’t think I have ever screamed as much as I did that Sunday. It was amazing and so much fun to be able to experience it with my brother!
And then we said goodbye and Eric flew home to Florida yesterday. WAH.
I guess I did give you every little detail. Sorry. I know this is probably the least relatable post unless you are in my family or a Boston sports fan, but I hope you enjoy the pictures anyway!
What did you do this weekend?
How long do you wait to get back in the gym after you’re sick?
Do you have any siblings?
